Man Vs AI

Should Future Doctors be Sharper than Health-Data-Scientist-Sharp?

Imagine all America’s health care data and the World’s health care data collected into one central data repository (CDR). Then imagine AI diagnosing patients first, then the doctor confirms those diagnoses. These two are possible future trends. A worldwide CDR is necessary for AI to grow larger and more powerful. This power aids in its ability to diagnose diseases. Perhaps this no longer seems far off. Companies are starting to make waves in this direction, like Fast Health Interoperability Resources (FHIR), InterSystems and Amazon HealthLake. These three systems together created a new standard and they are able to convert health data from older legacy systems running HL7 versions into FHIR. Because of this, we will soon see these future trends coming to fruition. These massive data processing, data storage, and data analytics systems are running fast towards leading us into the future, where more and more doctor’s woes will be solved. Doctors will not have to worry about lots of data-entry tasks, or wonder if they selected the right treatment plans: AI to the rescue! AI can tell the doctors what’s wrong with their patients. Al learns new materials faster than any human being.

Machine vs man: the machine wins every time.

Most people run to their calculators to solve math or statistic problems, while there are even fewer exception to this rule. My husband for example, is able to figure out math problems faster than financial professionals can type the numbers into a calculator. Also, my child’s second grade teacher was the same, one time she found a calculator to be wrong in its calculations. My point is there will still be a need for clinicians, but they must be smart enough to teach the AI.

Doctors will have to be Sharper than Health-Data-Scientist-Sharp
